In this wide-ranging collection, Susan Bassnett, one of the founding figures of translation studies and contemporary comparative literature, reflects on comparing literatures, translation, travel writing, and the Humanities themselves. Susan Bassnett is Professor Emerita of Comparative Literature of the University of Warwick, Honorary Professorial Fellow of the University of Glasgow, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, the Institute of Linguists and the Academia Europaea and President of the British Comparative Literature Association.
