Vanessa is an African American inner-city teen who developed into a young woman, consumed by negativity, feeling unworthy, and unable to express herself. Being naive, ignoring the negative in situations, Vanessa overlooked the obvious for the sake of love and fitting in. A chameleon, Tales of Domestic Violence is a collection of personal stories of how she rid herself of toxic tangled webs, removed daggers from her back, and dodged death. It depicts how some betrayed her because of her light, no matter where she turned. Seemingly Everyone around Vanessa chose to impose their trauma on her. All of them had bad intentions. They were relentless, deeply unhappy, lacked accountability, and victimized her. She rushed into friendships and relationships, focusing too much on sexual gratification and acceptance, which brought on displeasure, backstabbing, betrayal, disloyalty, disappointments, violence, rape, physical, emotional, and drug abuse. Publishing this book may bring uninvited persecution and judgment towards me. Nevertheless, I am willing to stand up and tell the truth because I know it will help others. Most of the time, people side with a celebrity they personally don't know, which allows a lack of accountability for wrongdoers. It is not easy to be vocal about something that emotionally drains you to the very core of your being. The reality is that this book is a way of promoting healing by overcoming emotional challenges and trauma. This book is based on actual events; all names have been changed for safety reasons.
