In a futuristic age dominated by authoritarian rule, humanity lies on the cusp of interstellar travel. The Earth is united under a single banner, the banner of a powerful being who has crowned himself the undisputed ruler of all. Humanity remains at the mercy of this godlike king, ensured by the might of his court of super-beings known as the Imperial Knights. The knights enforce the law and keep balance in the realm, a balance that has remained without question for some twelve hundred years.
