Storm Girl

Linda Nicklin's eco-thriller is set in a dystopian near future, where planet earth and everything on it is owned by the super-rich, Angel, the Storm Girl of the title, has been harvested by a gang of reapers. Frantic to escape what she knows to be a death sentence, she makes a desperate bid for freedom through the treacherous waters of a drowned city. The odds are stacked against her but there are glimmers of hope. Resistance, though fragmentary, exists, and a stronger movement seems to form around her as she strives for freedom. Fleeing from immediate danger is no escape, they have to fight back against the wholesale plundering of the planet. Angel becomes the focus for a new proactive resistance movement.Then she learns the devastating truth about herself and must decide, when it comes down to it, whose side is she really on?
