Still Life

On a January day in 1927, Paris, Camille de St. Phalle, a young girl of seventeen is approached on the avenue by a prominent painter, aged forty-five, who desires to paint her portrait. The love story that ensues between the two is passionate, lasting nine years, producing a daughter, but Camille is cut off from family and friends and lives a nearly isolated life because of her choice. A series of startling events occur that bring Camille a fearful realization. Still Life is based on the true story of Picasso and Marie-Therese Walter. It is an imaginative rendition of what it must have been like for Camille to live in the orbit of an artist the stature of a Picasso.
