Lena and Ruth are still at home in Punxsutawney, being next door neighbors. Lena is happily remarried, and as spring unfolds, what can steal their joy?Their neighbors with many dark secrets. Ruth believes the husband is slowly draining the life out of his wife and adult daughters. She tells the husband Christian character is above Amish manmade rules and calls him out as a hypocrite. Lena tones Ruth down and suggests they plant seeds of hope and love with appropriated doses of scripture to help the family. But Ruth was given a warning back home in New York for being too evangelical. She's never been one to do anything in halves and gets a bit preachy towards these neighbors.
