There comes a time when silence has to be broken, and voices must rise and speak out against the veil of tradition. Why now, and why me? The issue of sexual abuse, assault and violence has impacted my people for many years and generations. My own experience with it has affected me all my life - my relationships, grade school, college, work, home, motherhood, etc. Many years later, I finally realized it was a problem that was affecting me immensely. I realized that if I didn't deal with this issue, it would eventually destroy me.
