Beskrivelse
"The first movement of my Sonata for Flute and Piano in G, Op. 102, written in 2010, depicts images and feelings from my childhood growing up in the California hills. The oaks, poppies, lupine, chaparral - and everything about those hills are a deep inspiration - and a treasured place I escape to, both literally, and in my mind. I wrote the melody for the second movement in 1988 as part of incidental music for a staged poetry recital by Vera Sgutt Taicher. The poem was about the pain experienced when one is not able to be with their beloved. I found myself remembering the melody over the years, then finally used it in this sonata. The third movement is a joyful song of freedom and confidence." - dv This volume contains the sonata score. A PDF of the flute part is available free of charge from the author. Email Dale E.
