Written by authors from around the world with a variety of backgrounds using evidence-based medicine, this book has two main sections. The first covers the diagnosis of gastrointestinal disorders. This section contains chapters on various different diagnostic methods and on the most commonly observed clinical signs of gastrointestinal disease presented in dogs and cats, acute gastrointestinal signs, chronic vomiting, chronic diarrhea, and weight loss.

The second section focuses on specific diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Each component of the GI tract is discussed separately with another section focusing on diseases that affect more than one organ of the gastrointestinal tract.
