Its author the enlightened brother Shaykh Fadhlalla Haeri had spent considerable effort to make accessible the treatese of Imam Khomeini and Sayed Khoe as well as some of the oldest, classical books on fiqh and some modern ones, to make all these points accessible to today's reader. His purpose in all of this is to present the foundations of fiqh to those who have embraced Islam recently and may not be familiar with the old traditional presentations as well as to discuss the issues in a modern way of subjects and their divisions as being taught in secular education. "The path of Islam is based on two foundations, one of which is a description of truth and divine governance and most of the early ayahs revealed in Mecca relate to that. The other half of the path is to do with human relationships and boundaries which help to bring about a balanced way of life for individuals and communities.
