Debut collection of poems from New Jersey native, William Barker, composed between 2007-2010. Many of the poems featured here were birthed during a transitional phase in the poet's life when he left behind his first post-college, "career" job to pursue the writer's life, following his own instincts and heart. William pulls no punches, tackling many of life's fears, cliches, emotions, and frustrations with a delicate eye. Within these pages lurks a beautiful pessimism accomplished through radiant language. A wide range of subjects are tackled including: a lost mentor, giant sequoia's, rain; poet Charles Bukowski, digital books, alcoholism; death, and the suicide of a woman on live television.
