In practice school chaplaincy is increasingly considered to be indispensable, but a basic theory is missing. This study examines the framework conditions in a multi-perspective approach and establishes school chaplaincy from a system-theoretical point of view as system of structural coupling. From a practical-theological perspective, it reflects the role of school chaplaincy as a comprehensive form of communicating the gospel at school, which can be described in basal forms of communication. From an empirical point of view, the analysis of pupils' self-assessment reveals the diagnostic features of the theoretical foundation.
