SAS Tactical Vehicle Operations

This manual is designed for personnel who may come under hostile surveillance or attack while operating a motor vehicle. Whether the attack is an attempted arrest, carjacking, kidnapping, or terrorist assassination, the response is the same, to get out of the situation quickly. The goal is to help train the driver how to use his vehicle as a means of escape or weapon for survival. By carefully studying this manual, the driver will learn what a car is capable of and most importantly, his own limits. He will be shown how hard it is to stop a moving vehicle, and he will be taught evasive manoeuvres such as forward and reverse spins and ramming. The driver will be taught how to drive at high speed and at night with or without Night Observation Devices. These skills are vital for the success of the mission and for the survival of the operator upon catastrophic compromise.
