A new youth league baseball season was starting for the Chapman Construction Cardinals. Their coach, Claude Robinson, solicited the help of his seventeen year old neighbor - Rodney Wade. Richard Davis, one of the dads, was an assistant coach. One of the new players on the team was Charlie Rice. Charlie was a good player, but not such a good teammate. He was not fitting in very well with the team. However, after meeting classmate Margaret Rowland, his attitude slowly began to change.
