Are you ready to get cooking? S Is for Salsa, a beginner's guide to Tex-Mex cooking, offers a tasty introduction to Tex-Mex cuisine, as well as a Spanish dictionary of commonly-used foods. Cooking activities are a great way to practice basic math skills, such as counting and measuring, reinforce healthy eating habits, and learn more about our cultural heritage. Each of the recipes has been designed for children ages five through ten; but please note that younger children may need help when using a knife or oven, stirring hot liquids, and handling hot peppers.
