Although now a republican state, the Philippines harbors a rich and diverse historical background on monarchy and nobility on its shores and islands. With the advent of the IPRA law, many traditional titles dissolved when Spain introduced reduccion during the early days of its colonial occupation, are on their way to reinstitution and re-conferment.
