Romford Football Club volume 2, 1929-1945: from London to South Essex

Following the success of the first volume of their history of Romford Football Club, covering 1876 to 1920, Terry Felton and John Haley now take the story up to the end of World War Two. Now playing at Brooklands, Romford won back-to-back Athenian League titles and lifted the Essex Senior Cup three times. Statistics include first team, reserve team and A team results, line-ups, goal scorers, league tables, attendances and gate receipts. Club archives such as minute books, correspondence and photographs take us into the boardroom. We discover how the club purchased Brooklands; the ground before the pitch was turned round in 1937; the Selhurst Park extra time Cup exit; and Romford's F.A. Cup clash with Bristol City. We meet the young supporter who walked to Chelmsford to watch Romford play - and was duly rewarded! Finally, we join the team on board the Tilbury Ferry in the midst of an air raid.
