Beskrivelse
The third book in the MARKED MEN series. Somewhere between the perfect fairytale and a broken heart lies a happy ending... Loud and colourful, Cora Lewis is used to keeping her rowdy colleagues at the tattoo shop in line, but all her fiery bluster hides a heart that's been mistreated too many times. After her supposed happy-ever-after went out of the window, she's become fixated on nothing less than 'perfect'. But does such a guy exist? Rome Archer is as far from perfect as can be. Rigid and uncompromising, he's returned from his final tour of duty a broken man, and nightmares of war plague his every moment. Faced with family rifts and no idea what to do with his time, he's used to seeing the world in black and white, good and bad - and right now, he's lost in the dark. On the surface, neither is what the other person wants - but in the search for perfect, imperfection might just be what they need...

QUOTE: “I got used to everyone needing me, to them relying on me, and now that I wasn’t needed anymore I simply just didn’t know what to do with myself.” This book was cute and I liked it. It made me smile, it made me laugh, and it even made me cry. Normally that would be all I needed to give this book 5 stars, but this time it just wasn't enough. The story is about Rome, big brother Archer, who has returned home from war and doesn't quite know what to do with his inner demons and with himself. Then he meets Cora, who is waiting for Mr. Perfect to show up, and Rome is so far from perfect, that she is completely confused when she realizes that she has feelings for him. Together they are trying to understand why they connect and why they just seem to work despite all the imperfections. QUOTE: “What do you mean? We have it, we raise it, we send it to school, keep it from getting eaten by wolves or becoming a stripper, and we're good.” I really liked Rome from the very beginning when we met him in 'Rule', so I was really looking forward to reading his book. Rome didn't disappoint me. He was loyal, a hero, sexy and an all-around really good guy. But he didn't make me swoon, and he didn't make my heart race, and I don't really know why, because I really do like him. I guess I needed more depth, and I needed to get to know him better. His demons were never really dealt with, we only just scratched the surface, which was too bad because I wanted to know him. QUOTE: “The fact that so many of my friends were stumbling headfirst into their happily-ever-after gave my tired heart hope that I couldn't be far behind.” I also liked Cora, but she is the kind of character that doesn't leave an impression on me, so I probably won't remember her in a couple of days. She drowns in all the other amazing characters that I have a place for in my heart and mind. She is a nice girl, and she is also loyal and strong. But again, we didn't really get to know her. We only just scratched the surface of what is really going on with her, and what happened to her in her past. I needed more from her to connect with her. Now she is just one of many, unfortunately. Rome and Cora's relationship was cute. I liked them together, and I liked reading about their cute and steamy scenes. It didn't even bother me that they had a connection almost from the beginning. It wasn't love, but it was definitely more than just lust, and it was all a bit fast, but they were cute so I was okay with it. But they didn't make me swoon. And I guess that sentence: "I liked .. but" really describes my feelings about this book. I generally liked it, but there was always something that kept me from truly connecting with it and the characters, so that is why it falls under the category of 'cute'. I would recommend the book if you are looking for a cute story and a cute romance, but don't expect an epic story and a romance that will blow you off your feet, which is okay, because sometimes you are just in the mood for cute, and then this book is perfect. QUOTE: “Relationships are not tailor-made and people are flawed. You have to work around that and love the other person anyway. Our flaws are what make us unique.”
