Billionaire Urban Q. Archembald has a challenge for the six members of his exclusive book club: author a short story using only the headlines from randomly selected newspapers. The captions are real, but the narratives are fiction. The prize for the winning chapter is ten million dollars. A combination of desperation and greed causes the murder of two, the suicide of another, and the focus of a homicide detective. The investigator uncovers that the motive for the dare is a carefully orchestrated scheme of murder for hire and the perfect requital.
