Beskrivelse

What if you could see into the future? What would it be worth to you?

In the bucolic hamlet of Covington, Vermont--home of Graebner College--something is deadly wrong.

Lenore Simonsen and Sam Whitney own a successful investment firm in Covington. From an old volume in the Graebner College Library, Lenore stumbles across an ancient occult ritual that dates to the middle ages. It was practiced briefly, with ghastly results, at Schulenmeister Seminary, the nineteenth century predecessor of Graebner College. The ritual, called The Code, is a form of alchemy. However, it is not alchemy in which base elements are transmuted into gold and other precious metals. It is a way to gain glimpses of the future.

Late at night, in an abandoned altar chamber deep below the two-hundred-year old Graebner College Library, Lenore and Sam use the Code to learn where stock markets are going. They gain unimaginable wealth. Little do they know--if the Code is not performed exactly right, if there is so much as one minor twist--something dark and dangerous will emerge.

Nick Sanchez and Karty Malone, two top-notch students at Graebner, unwittingly stumble on what Lenore and Sam are up to. Now the only question is, who will survive the evilness that has been unleashed?
