In monograph are discussed many issues which are unsettled in modern international law. In the theoretical part, not only current problems of the state succession are taken up in a uniform system, but a complex analysis of the theoretical questions involved. The monograph deals with the international law aspects of the dissolution of the USSR. It examines the international treaties that have been concluded in the post-Soviet space on state succession. Even today, the problem of international relations between Russia and the USSR does not lose importance. In the context of the formation of an independent Georgia, such questions of general international law are considered as the legal model of continuity and identity. Notably, the problem of the legal relationship between the present Georgian state and the Democratic Republic of Georgia (1918-1921) is analysed.
