From Spectator to Motivator I ve sat in the stands at football games (which occupied more than half my life) - from peewee league to professional - whether I was cheering on my son, his dad or my grandsons. It didn t matter what level of play it was, they each had the same passion for the game - for the competition, the comradery, the celebration of championships or bemoaning losses. Living this 'football life' has afforded me extraordinary opportunities, exposure to life s options and blessings untold. That life filled my personal 'playbook' with the wisdom to call an audible, pass, run or, go for the two-point conversion as I lived each day. Yes, I observed the 'thrill of victory and the agony of defeat' from the stands and side-lines. Most importantly, I d beheld strength, courage and purpose. And, those qualities molded me into the person I am today. I got off the bench after merely existing and got into the game of living.
