What began as a tribute to my daughters, capturing their formative years in Jamaica-evolved into a deeper journey of self-discovery. As an American living abroad, I was challenged by cultural norms that forced me to examine my own beliefs, biases, and identity.

This memoir reflects the trials and triumphs of adapting to a new culture while growing as a woman, mother, wife, and nurse. Writing it was healing, a chance to confront the past, embrace personal growth, and celebrate the strength found in the unfamiliar.

I hope my story inspires those returning home or starting life abroad to face their inner struggles, rise above stigma, and discover the beauty of transformation.
