Born in Egypt in 1315 AH (1897), Shaykh Muhammad al-Hafiz, is recognized as one of the foremost hadith scholars of 20th-century Egypt. In the Tariqa Tijaniyya, Shaykh al-Hafiz obtained Ijazahs from an illustrious lineage of authorities, culminating in his most prominent authorization from Shaykh Ahmad Sukayrij.

In this seminal work, Shaykh al-Hafiz categorizes twenty-nine conditions of the Tijaniyya into five key sections, covering the student-teacher relationship, personal conduct, the validity of dhikr, proper manners during dhikr, and the qualifications for teaching the Tijaniyya.
