Neurologist Doctor Barton is held captive by scientists, helping them to alter their DNA. But after a decade of experiments, he figures out that they are not going to let him go as promised. They are going to kill him. Not only are they now searching for him and his hiding will come to an end, but his own DNA has been compromised and he cannot leave in his mutated state. He needs a cure. A cure that was promised by his captors long ago. But there never was a cure. He must create one himself using the last two human patients as experiments. But time has run out. They know of his plan. And now they've found him.
