Beskrivelse

The Book of Tea written by Lu Yu of the Tang Dynasty is the first monograph on tea in the world. In The Book of Tea, Lu Yu inherited and summarized the tea culture in the Tang Dynasty and before the Tang Dynasty and creatively put forward the 'Method of Boiling Tea'. He made a systematic standard of tea ceremony, made tea sets and tea utensils represented by 'twenty-four utensils', and drew a relatively complete map of tea producing areas in the Tang Dynasty for us through on-the-spot investigation of the tea producing areas. Lu Yu has become a wonderful interpretation of the poetic habitation in traditional culture because of his The Book of Tea, his historical achievements in initiating the tea science, and his spirit of tea ceremony centered on 'refined and thrifty morality'. Lu Yu is also known as the 'Saint of Tea' for it. Since Lu Yu, although there have been great changes in the way by which tea is made, boiled and drunk, The Book of Tea covers many fields of works on tea science in the future with its encyclopedia style writing style and becomes an insurmountable peak. 'It has been imitated but has never been surpassed'. This book is based on the authoritative master copy, and the annotations and translations strive are accurate and smooth. The comments to each chapter not only introduce the content of this chapter, but also sort out the history of tea culture related to it. The two-color printing, tea sets and tea utensils inserted with the text, as well as the well-known paintings reflecting the scenes of making tea, tasting tea and tea competition can not only enable us to intuitively understand the changes in the shape of tea sets and the whole process from picking tea to drinking tea, but also further appreciate the profound connotation of the tea culture.
