Predator/Prey

Predator/Prey offers a glimpse into the lives and abilities of nine sets of animals locked in the most intimate of life's relationships - predator and prey. Bat, moth, bear, salmon, coyote, rabbit, honey badger and bee are among the eighteen animals to which the poet turns her eye. The poems focus, for the most part, on the quirks and talents honed by the process of chasing or being chased, Humanity, the most predaceous creature of all, gets a brief nod at the end, leaving readers with an unstated question about the dubious benefits of unchecked predation.
