The Politics of Publishing in South Africa

This is the first analysis of the publishing industry in South Africa. It provides a social, historical, and strategic look at its importance for the further development of society. The contributors ask important questions about the politics of ownership and participation in the publishing industry, as well as the issues generated by representation, knowledge, language and literary, power and association, government policy and its impact on publishing as an industry.
