Poised for Harvest, Braced for Backlash

What are the implications of the Holy Spirit backing up the gospel with power? The thesis of this book is that when God backs up his word with power, Christian disciple-makers must be prepared for two things: (1) a rapid harvest of souls, and (2) concurrent unpredictability and social disruption, often in some form of persecution. In other words, they must be both poised for harvest and braced for backlash. The primary question with which this book is concerned is: When Jesus is disrupting all of the systems around us and we, as a result, only have a relatively short amount of time with new believers, how can we lay foundations for movements that are of New Testament quality and that can endure the fires of persecution?
