Beskrivelse

Can the Western dream of planetary democracy come true when the existence of fundamental cultural differences is denied? This book proposes keys for improving our understanding of the fundamental differences between democracies and other societies, in particular those receiving foreign aid or assistance from the West under bilateral or multilaterial agreements.

Sophia Mappa is a historian and sociologist. She directs the Delphi Forum, an international association of scholars, political leaders, and social actors who analyze the complex relationships between the developed West and other countries of the world. She has worked for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and taught at the School for High Studies in Social Sciences in Paris.
