Beskrivelse
Ministry in German Protestant churches has been undergoing strong changes for years - these changes are due to religious demographic developments as well as caused by new perceptions of ministry by those who are going to work as pastors. Last but not least, academic teaching and research in the field of theology is concerned with e.g. the so-called Bologna reforms, digitalization and a strong call for third-party funded engagement. All these changes turn out to challenge theological formation in all three realms: at the level of academic study, apprenticeship in church and further education. In May 2019, the assembly of theological faculties in Germany (Evangelisch-theologischer Fakultatentag ETFT) has convened a conference, supported by both the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) and the Scientific Society for Theology (WGTh), which aimed at identifying the most urgent tasks ahead and options for further development of theological education. This text book presents most of the contributions and helps to better understand and foster the German reform discourse on protestant ministry.
