Penelope Goodlove's Invisible Detective Agency: The Elephant Who Cried Wolf

It's the year 2054 and Mrs. Wiggle's elephant figurines are disappearing from every shelf and table, but then magically reappearing the next day. The police think she's crazy, "crying wolf," they say. Every time they come to investigate a disappearance all they find is a reappearance. So eventually they stop coming.

In a last-ditch effort to find out what's really happening with her figurines, she calls detective after detective to find someone willing to take the case. Eventually she works her way down the alphabet to Red Owl Investigations, and that's when everything changes.

Red Owl Investigations has two things going for it: Penelope Goodlove and Rippley (not Ripley) Blunt. Both young girls have the curious and wonderful skill of being able to make themselves invisible at will, a skill that will come in handy as the case takes an unexpected and deadly turn.

The Elephant Who Cried Wolf is the first in a new series, Penelope Goodlove's Invisible Detective Agency. The series is a spinoff of the award-winning Simon Grave Mysteries, by bestselling author Len Boswell.
