The purpose of Joseph Story's Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States of America is to review where the nation began as colonies, and then hear another voice bring up the issues they considered, and the powers, and possible tyrannies, they believed could destroy the nation, if not properly checked in our new government: a democratic-republic. The main focus of this part will be the Commentaries, ads they are an in-depth review of the nation's history, problems, and how they sought to work through the problems to make a better future for themselves and their posterity. In the process of seeing this, we are also given the purpose and meaning of the wording of the Constitution, after being shown the troubles that were met in colonial America and the Articles of Confederation by the People of that time. In Patriot's Bookshelf Part Three, we begin with a little information about who Joseph Story was, and why we should care about his Commentaries. We are then presented with his political masterpiece, "Joseph Story's Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States of America" broken down by chapters for easier reading. In Part One we will learn about the history of the colonies, and the issues face with the Articles of Confederation. I hope we all may enjoy the journey of discovery and the unflinching reminder of what this nation's birth was about
