Decorated Polish fighter pilot Witold 'Lanny' Lanowski tells his remarkable Second World War story beginning with his dramatic escape from Nazi aggression in Poland, fighting with the reformed Polish Air Force in France, and eventually arriving in England to combat the Luftwaffe.On completion of his tour he joins the United States Army Air Forces and the 56th Fighter Group,'Zemke's Wolfpack', flying the P47 Thunderbolt, the 'Jug', escorting the heavy bombers over hostile territory and hunting down enemy pilots.
