Ossian Legends

The legends of Ossian, as reported by James MacPherson, became a popular sensation at the time of publication. The epic stories of battle and love, love and battle and death appealed to the burgeoning Romantic sentiment of the time. Although controversy arose as to the authenticity of MacPherson's claims, this work of Ossian stands as a unique and original poetic form. How much of this is MacPherson and how much is Ossian is, in this editor's opinion, beside the point. This edition simply presents the poetry for the reader.
