Nye In March: Carpenter Bees

Nye and his friends on Little Green Hill are kicking off spring with a bang - or rather, a buzz!

Nye is a homeschooled boy who spends his days exploring the environment around the old house on the hill. He becomes friends with the animal inhabitants and together they learn about who and what shares their space.

This month they are surprised by a large, buzzing bee on the porch - Humphrey, a gentle giant from the species Xylocopa virginica, or Eastern Carpenter Bee.

Some of the mice are finding it hard to get along, but Humphrey knows all too well that life is short, and it's important to stop and smell the roses... and every other flower you can find.
