Numbered

Today is my Numbering Day. We have peace in our realm, but I yearn for more. Every aspect of my life is monitored and controlled, even who I love. But there is no way out of this numbering system. Outside the dome lies the destruction and ruins left by the Great War, which no one can survive. I didn't know that today would mark the beginning of my fight to break free from the shackles of my numbered existence. I was clueless about the secrets my leaders were hiding and the damage I would cause by learning them. The more I discover, the more I realize how little I know about the world around me. But now, I am awake, and there is no going back to who I used to be. I am just one person, but perhaps I am enough to rebuild a society. I am 1106, and this is my story.
