Not Quite Safe

"Turning back to Cassi, I saw her reach a conclusion in her mind and braced myself for the outcome. I honestly expected her to send me and my cousin back home after my outburst, but what I didn't expect was for her to shrug and say, "Fine. Take our lone wolf snipers over the southern line and see what you can find, general. Kill the leader if you can, bring back intelligence on how we can reach them if you can't."

 

The High Priestess of the Council of Women who care for the Civilized Lands is struggling to find an end to the war that rages across her home. As a last bid for victory, she sends her kinswomen deep into the southern lands in the hopes they can find the source of the invasion. While they are there, Ruby and Topaz find some interesting friends who are happy to help end the war.

 

They also find some terrifying foes who are mad for power.

 

It will take all their wits to finish their assignment and safely return home.
