Beskrivelse
In this book, the author tells a historical factual Civil War story from the perspective of a chicken that was present when America was at a pivotal point in its fledgling history, you will become immersed in the story of how a hen distinguished herself from other chickens.
The story of Nellie is based on a historical account of a pet owned by Robert E.Lee, an American soldier who commanded the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Lee rescued the little hen and provided a refuge for the animal in his camp. This book takes the reader on a journey, from the farm where Nellie was hatched to the point where the general befriended her and later granted the bird amnesty. This book also explores the hen's expedition as she witnesses the ravages of war and tries to make sense out of the needless bloodshed caused by the "upright walker" creatures. The saga of Nellie is about her, as she tries to pursue a purpose-filled life.
