Native Americans and the New American Government

There is a long and complex history surrounding the plight of Native Americans in the United States. Culturally so different from the Europeans that settled our country, Native Americans found their lives drastically changed from the moment the first settler set foot in the new land. Primary source material and fascinating images are used to examine the Europeans' early interaction with the Native Americans, focusing on the treaties and the promises made in an effort to help the situation, but which often failed.
