naked

'naked' is dark, personal and unapologetic in it's honesty. This collection is an accumulation of nearly three years' worth of poems, beginning when I was studying for my A-Levels and finishing at the end of my second year of university. The book is separated into three parts, with each part focused on an aspect of myself that I feel was most important at the time of writing. Part I focuses on my experiences with my body image, my sex life and my gender identity, Part II focuses on my experiences with love, friendship, heartbreak, familial love and emotional abuse and Part III focuses on my experiences with my mental illnesses and some of the ways I try to heal myself. These poems serve as my personal catharsis and a love/hate letter to my teenage years, warts and all.
