Beskrivelse
Small Town - Big Adventure - Quirky Characters - An Unforgettable Story
An explosion has rocked the quirky town of Saskariver! The town's devious mayor is unwilling to rebuild. But homeschooled 11-year-old Joey Storthoaks, from a large family with an even larger brood of cats, has other plans. He's willing to save the town...or to at least die trying. That is if he can first get over his "misfit" self.
The Adventures of a Misfit series will entertain, charm, inspire, and likely make the side of your stomach hurt with laughter.

"With all the humor and feelgoods of the Sandlot, MY BLASTED TOWN is a fun-filled, faith-inspiring book about how anyone can make a difference in the lives of the people around them. Because 'if something out of the ordinary needs to happen,' maybe we're the ones for the job."
- Vanessa Thurgood, Author of the Comstock Chronicles
"This book was so suspenseful and exciting that I couldn't put it down!"
- Lucy, Student, Ontario, Canada
"This book is great! I didn't see Lucy for two days!"
- Lucy's Mom
"In the style of Richard Peck! Can't wait to read more."
- Shannon, Mom of Three

From My Blasted Town:
"I live on an acreage near Saskariver, Saskatchewan, where the prairie meets the northern forest. We have a horse named Horse, a dog named Doggy, two dozen chickens named Breakfast, Dinner, Supper, and so forth, and an unknown number of cats called everything from Cat to Catsputin, from Kitty to Kitty-Cat, from Poopsy-Diaper to Terrence Pickles. Creativity is a must when you name so many cats over the years. We used to name our cats after politicians, but Mom said it was inappropriate for us to be so happy whenever a cat died.
I also have family members. Not as many as I have cats, but still quite a few, and with less creative names. We all have brownish hair, blue or green eyes, and French-Canadian blood running in our veins. My dad Marc and mom Geri lead the way, followed by Johnny (17), Josh (14), Ellie (13), me (I'm Joey, age 11), Rebecca (6), Sam (4), and the baby Lyda. We get along very well sometimes. Sometimes, we get put to work because we're fighting. Sometimes, we then start fighting while we work. Sometimes, we miss supper until we start being nice to each other. And then we're back where we started."
