My 2020: The diary of a woman in her seventies living alone during the pandemic

Jeannie's year began full of happy expectation when she returned from a New Year holiday at her favourite place in the world, Cortijo Romero, in southern Spain. However, the pandemic soon took hold and 2020 developed into a series of daily challenges and Jeannie, like so many others, had no choice but to get on and deal with them. In her daily diary Jeannie records her thoughts, her feelings and her experiences and reveals how the restrictions of life under lockdown impacted on her. Living on her own in Reading, many miles from her son, her daughter, her sister and many friends, she reflects each day on what this has meant. Her difficulties and her worries, as well as her pleasures and her delights are thrown into sharp relief against a backdrop of ever-worsening national and international news, government blunders and occasional glimpses of hope.
