I've survived as a Sigma for years. Relying on myself through my job as an EMT helping those who can't help themselves.

Something my pack never afforded me, even when they knew the cruelty of our Alpha.



But when I receive word that shifters are unaccounted for, and my best friend is one of the missing?



I have to go back.



I expected to face some of my demons at the pack gathering, but I didn't expect the rival Alpha to stare at me like that. I didn't expect him to know my name, and I definitely didn't anticipate him showing up at my hotel room after dark.



What could Rowan Steele want with someone like me? Especially when my Alpha already turned on him once, and Nathan Black wouldn't think twice at ripping out Rowan's throat for touching property that wasn't his to claim...



He leans against the doorway, filling the frame so only a sliver of moonlight slips through. "What are we going to do about this?"



I scoff, backing up a step. "About you crossing Kitimat territory?"



"I haven't crossed anything. This is neutral land."



"I'm Kitimat territory. You're standing in my room."



His eyes bore into mine, like flecks of onyx. "I thought you didn't belong to anyone..."
