The year was 1985. MTV was the new kid in town and already dominating the thinking of a generation. Fashion was in a state of flux, home video was still in its infancy, and major record outlets such as The Wherehouse, Musicland, and Tower Records were the cultural hub for both teens and adults. These stores were where you went when you had no place to go on a Friday or Saturday night, where you found out what was cool, and what the next trend was that all of your friends would be following. Kendall Leevy couldn't believe his luck when he got hired at Monolith Records. It was like a dream come true. However, as he becomes more and more indoctrinated into the store's culture, he slowly discovers just how strange working with the public can be.
