Mirror, Mirror

This collection of 119 color plates by noted photographer Pamela Fingerhut presents work from five of her projects. The Female Taxonomy series challenges society's perceptions of women. The Her Case project is the artist's reaction to the post-9/11 practice of open searches of private property in public settings. Under the Surface explores how women feel about their bodies, as suggested by the undergarments they choose to wear. The Out Spouse is the artist's visual journal of her thoughts and feelings during a painful divorce. Finally, Off the Walls explores ancient pictographs and petroglyphs of the American Southwest, interpreting their possible mystical meanings.
