This is a very political novel dealing with the India/Pakistan/Kashmir conflict and society that I sadly know very little about. I never warmed to any of the characters and there are too many additional characters to keep track of. I fail to be able to explain what this book is even about. I got about 3/4 through the book and just couldn't bring myself to pick it up anymore. Very disappointing. I loved "The God of Small Things."
