Beskrivelse
In 1999, Martyn Clarke was just nineteen-years old, when he left the Falklands Islands to try out for Boca Juniors. In doing so becoming the first Falklander to step foot in Argentina since the war ended. His is an incredible story of dreams and broken dreams. How the Argentinians took him to their hearts, none more so than Diego Maradona. Seventeen-years on from the war, the kid who was head and shoulders the best player on the island, set off to discover that whilst as he jokingly called himself, The ''Maradona of the Falklands'' the reality awaiting him at Boca Juniors academy, was something totally different. Martyn's journey, truly one that took real guts to undertake. There was to be no happy ending, but just for a short period, Martyn Clarke gave hope that football could somehow help bring together the warring countries of Great Britain and Argentina. Sadly, too much bad blood and real had been spilt. But a wonderful tale, nonetheless.
