Lost and Losing

When a young girl disappears into thin air in the middle of an Edinburgh afternoon, her worried father brings it to Luke Calvin. Working as a private investigator and existing somewhere between the law and the underworld that runs just below the surface of the city, Luke is in the best possible position to help his friend and find her.At the same time a new batch of heroin is appearing on the streets, but the police are at a loss to find the source and stop the deaths that are following in its wake. It is starting to seem as though the uneasy alliance that has held between various criminal factions might break and the city will once again be plunged into violence.With nowhere else to turn, the police bring the case to Luke. With his efforts now divided between a missing child, a distraught friend and the unofficial burden that law enforcement has laid on his shoulders, he once again has to use every contact he has on both sides of the law in the hope that somehow he can unravel these strands and not end up losing himself along the way.
