Beskrivelse
This is an important book, written by an important woman. The tales told here-particularly horrifying stories of experiences in the kingdom of the night, the Holocaust-are seared into the memory of the generations: the firing squad at age five, being buried alive, the baby ripped apart in front of our mother. Sometimes, even at the Sabbath meal, there would be a wishbone in the chicken. Our mother would look at the wishbone and say, "That is how that baby was torn apart." This was the story of our youth, retold again and again in sacred cadence. These stories are but the beginning however for what you are about to read is a tale of redemption and faith. Our mother shows a way to walk from the Kingdom of the night and follow your path to the Dawn. Even as in this world we never fully leave the night behind. In the preface to the book, we write about it: "At times there are mystical experiences-what today are often called paranormal-that arrive with startling clarity. They give us direct access to the almost impossible to grasp realization that even what has been ripped apart may somehow come back to together, that torn hearts and broken bodies might yet be stitched back, that as we reweave our bodies, hearts, and souls, the fabric of the broken Cosmos is rewoven in the great Tikkun, the great fixing. This is the ultimate human dignity. We have faith in God. Faith is a memory of the knowing that it is true. And we renew our faith in recovering that memory every day. That is the act of this book, a recover of memory, both of the past but it also implies a memory of the future, a memory of the most beautiful world that we already know is true. Our masters whose souls were on fire taught us that just as we have faith in God, God has faith in us. God loves us so much he turns to us to heal what the great Kabbalists describe as the Wounded God. In the infinite dignity of healing the Wounded God, our own wounds become whole. For God is always perfect and beyond all wounds, but the very greatness of God is his humility. He allows himself to appear to be wounded for the sake of our healing. This is the essence of the Yiddiskkeit as taught by the greatest of Kabbalistic sages. The healing of our unimaginably beautiful world-whose insides are lined with love, and yet is at the same time this being ripped apart and broken is the currency of the Divine that moves, drives and even obsesses every fiber of our being. We live in a world filled with broken vessels, broken bodies, broken hearts, and even broken souls-even as the world is unimaginable beautiful. We participate in the healing of our world by moving towards Tikkun-towards wholeness-in ourselves and for the whole. For our personal Tikkun, our personal transformation, is the transformation of the whole."
This book must be read. It is a book that will change you. Its uncontaminated directness will move your soul and open up all the gates necessary for our own personal journey of liberation, a journey not only to God, but a journey inside of God.
